Talking to the mind

We are today what we were thinking in the past and we will become what we are thinking today (see also).

Our plastic mind makes this possible. It always takes on the form of what we are thinking. When we think of an apple, our mind is an apple; when we think of a dog, our mind is a dog; when we think of light, our mind is light.

This experience can teach us how to change our character. Whenever I think “I don’t want to be an angry man”, my mind creates this image of an angry self. Only when I think of myself as being peaceful, my mind becomes peaceful.

I observe, that every thought is preceded by a concept or a term, which I create, through previous experiences; this ends up creating pattern, pattern of the mind that repeat themselves.

Can I useĀ  prayer, acceptance, training in positive thinking to create new pattern, a positive mind frame for myself?

A year after the TTC

A few weeks ago I found myself walking around an agricultural field in Borneo, East Malaysia, planting dry rice – taking the grains with my fingertips to the heart and whispering my mantra. I felt peace and gratitude.

It’s now one year from the yoga teachers training course (TTC) in Netala and as I’m not bound to any place I call home, I decided to travel and learn about all different ways of sustainability, personnal and social resilience. I find home in the daily practice of yoga and meditation.
I am grateful to the masters and my teachers for making me understand that all actions are in vain unless they are offered to the devine – in this spirit I am trying to serve the people and the earth.

As I carry the teachings with me and use my opportunities to teach, I express my gratitude.
